As player - coach 1st baseman John "Buck" O'Neil led the
world famous Kansas City Monarchs to five Nego League championships
and two Negro League World Series titles. He was the first black
hired as coach by a major league club (the Chicago Cubs) and
was the founder the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
