Fun Time Carnival

Carnival rides are always a favorite at Olde Glory Days. Carnival armband sessions will be 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday with an additional session from 12:00 Noon - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday following the Grand Parade. Armbands may be purchased at the Olde Glory Day Store, 117 W. Franklin St. or the Chamber Depot for $17.00 before June 27th. These tickets may be exchanged for any one carnival session at the carnival ticket booth. Armbands during Olde Glory Days will be $20.00 and may be purchased at the beginning of sessions from the carnival ticket booth.

Ride the Mechanical Bull

Returning for its second year to Olde Glory Days, 8 Second Productions and Russell Harrington offer the best mechanical bull riding experience you can get aside from clinbin' on a live critter

Mount up & be the first to say "I ride him like a yard dawg" at this year's Olde Glory Days!

Toddler Tent

Special activities for youngsters five and under can be found in the Toddler Tent. Loads of activities from Little Tykes can keep the kiddos entertained for hours! In addition, the kids can register to win the many great toys in the tent so be sure to stop by.

Located on the northeast side of the Courthouse, the Toddler Tent is sponsored by Champion Brands, Mike Keith Insurance, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, Gregg Smith Ford, Harrison Chiropractic & Golden Valley Serenity Spa.. All toddlers must be accompanied by an adult.

Downtown Window Treasure Hunt
Sponsored by Main Street, Inc.

Do the kids need something to do before the official start of Olde Glory Days? Go treasure hunting! Kids of all ages can participate in Clinton Main Street's Window Treasure Hunt. The contest begins Monday, June 18th and runs through Saturday, June 29th at 5:00 p.m. Participating downtown businesses display numbered Treasure Hunt items in their windows. Entry blanks with corresponding numbers are available at participating businesses, the Chamber Depot, Olde Glory Days Store, the Information Booth during Olde Glory Days and on the www.clintonmo.com website by downloading the Windows Treasure Hunt form.

Complete the form and return it to the Olde Glory Days Store or the Information Booth by the deadline to qualify for the drawing held Saturday evening (you do not need to be present to win). All winners receive Chamber gift certificates, first place is $150, second place is $100 and third place is $50.

Happy hunting! Winners will be announced prior to the 7:00 p.m. show on the south side stage Saturday evening.

Olde Glory Days Store

The Olde Glory Days Store (117 W. Franklin) will open Wednesday, June 12 at 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Wednesday, June 26th.You may puirchase4 all your Olde Glory Days decorations, T-shirts, carnival armbands, etc. at the store. On June 27th to 30th you can purchase T-shirts at the Information Booth on the South Side of the courthouse lawn.

"Dream Big in 2013" Food Drive

This year the International Fairs and Festivals Association is sponsoring a "Dream Big in 2013" unified food drive with a goal of collecting 20 million pounds of food worldwide. Olde Glory Days will be participating in this event by collecting nonperishable foods throughout Olde Glory Days for the Clinton Samaritan Center. We will weigh the total foods collected to be added towards the 20 million pound goal. Bring you donations to the Olde Glory Days store prior to the festival, the Information Booth during Olde Glory Days or you can make a monetary donation, which will be used to purchase food, at the Ice Cream Social at the Gospel Fest.

Grand Parade
Saturday, June 29, at 10:00 a.m.

The biggest and the best parade in Henry County, Olde Glory Days just wouldn't be the same without this annual event. Countless spectators will line the streets of Clinton on Saturday morning, June 29th, to get a glimpse of their favorite float, car, band, or other parade entry. Olde Glory Days theme this year is "Proud to be American"

KCP&L and World Wide Technology are proud sponsors of this year's parade. No pre-registration is necessary; you will fill out your entry form at the line-up site beginning at Second and Clinton Streets. Judging will take place in several categories but you must be in place by 9:30 a.m. before the parade starts at 10:00 a.m. to be eligible for awards.

The parade travels Second Street to Jefferson, west on Jefferson to Main, north on Main and around the Square before exiting on south Main Street. The reviewing stand will be at Main & Jefferson Streets on the Square and emceed by Clinton's own, Jim Raysik.

2013 Mega Fireworks Display

The 2013 Mega Fireworks display is sponsored by Schreiber Foods. A highlight of Olde Glory Days, the fireworks will be set to music again this year. Tune into KDKD 95.3 for the musical accompaniment. Plan to join family and friends at the Henry County Fairgrounds to enjoy the show. The display will commence at 9:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30st, 2013.

The fireworks can be viewed from the area of the Katy Trail, the Benson Center and the Henry County Fairgrounds.

18th Annual Ike Parker Memorial Fine Art Show
2013 Youth Art Show

All artists are offered a chance to show off their work at the Annual Ike Parker Memorial Fine Arfs Show. Whether you're a professional, non-professional or student artist, this is a great opportunity to display your talents. Sponsored by the Clinton Arts Council, the juried show offers cash awards in all divisions. Entry fees and limits apply, and the entry deadline is June 22, 2011. Exhibits are open to the public at 117 W. Franklin (on the north side of the square).

Hours for the art show are Friday, June 28th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, June 29th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Awards include First, Second and Third as well as Best of Show and People's Choice Award. You can pick up registration information at the Depot, 200 S. Main or on the www.clintonmo.com website by downloading the Ike Parker Information and Registration Form.

Henry County Museum

The Henry County Museum welcomes visitors from Thursday, June 27th through Saturday, June 29th. Regular admission applies from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday & Friday; admission is free on Saturday after the parade.

Harry Truman
In August, 1953, Harry S. Truman stopped in Clinton & delivered his speech regarding his no nonsense values & beliefs. Ray Starzmann of Kansas City will be in Clinton to recreate the Truman experience on the square & at the HC Museum. Mr. Starzmann will deliver an enlightening & entertaining impersonation of Missouri's favorite son. He welcomes questions, both historical & of a current nature & answers as if he were Mr. Truman. This is an event you will not want to miss!

"Meet Harry Truman" at the museum in the annex area following the parade. President Truman will be a part of the special WWII exhibit. Harry will be in the annex until 12:30 pm (courtesy of the HC Democratic Party.) President Truman will also be available at the Anheuser-Busch Courtyard at 2:00 pm (West DeLozier in case of rain).

Have you ever thought about the labels that are put on people? Some people are labeled because of their skin color or because they have a learning disability or a health condition or a physical deformity or even a different way of believing. I invite you to come journey thru the art exhibit during Olde Glory Days in Clinton, MO to celebrate my heroes. Theyíve chosen to share their stories so others will see well beyond the labels.

The Homestead, which includes a restored Dog-Trot log cabin, barn, and other exhibits.

Sunday Community Worship Service

After all the hustle and bustle, the Sunday morning Community Worship Service is just what we all need to show our gratitude and appreciation for God, Family & Country. The service is hosted each year by the Clinton Ministerial Alliance & begins at 7:15 a.m., Sunday, June 30th, on the Courthouse lawn. Everyone is welcome to this time of fellowship & reflection. Clinton Christian Church Ice Cream Social

The Clinton Christian Church will be hosting a homemade ice cream social at the Benson Center from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. during the Gospelfest on Sunday, June 30th. Homemade cookies and ice cream will be available for a free will offering. Each year, proceeds from this event support local charities. This yearís proceeds will be donated to the Samaritan Center.

RC Planes

Golden Valley Radio & Control Association will host an Open House Saturday, June 29th after the Parade, from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m.. Come watch & learn more about radio controlled air planes & the association. They meet on the end of 8th Street past Meadow Lake.

Olde Glory Days and American Family Insurance are pleased to announce the 7th Annual Wiener Dog Races will be held Saturday, June 29 at 2:00 p.m. A favorite of race fans from 4 to 94, this exciting contest will take place at the corner of 3rd & Franklin St., two blocks east of the Square. Be sure to arrive early for the CARE auction.

Great American Duck Races

"You can't watch ducks race without smiling." Sixteen children (and adults) are chosen during each show to release the ducks in the race track. Prizes are given to the winners of each race; five races during each show.

This show offers the "something different" people want. Interesting facts about Mallard ducks are revealed throughout the show. The educational portion of the show was prepared by Ducks Unlimited, Inc.

Firequacker 500

"What a Quacker!" will be heard over and over at the 2013 Duck Races at Optimist Park. The Sunrise Optimist Club is once again sponsoring the races and will be giving free hotdogs, chips and water from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 Noon. Be sure to stop by on Friday, June 28th, for this wonderfully fun event!

Ducks are $1.00 each and will be selling until race time. First prize is a cash prize of $500,, following by $250 for the second place finisher and $100 for third place.

Veterans Lunch

Pet Show

Let's hope it doesn't rain cats and dogs at the Olde Glory Days Pet Show! Sponsored this year by CARE (Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor), the Pet Show begins at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28th, on the Entertainment Stage on the south side of the Courthouse. Categories include Most Patriotic and Owner / Pet Look-Alike.. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Forms are available at the Chamber office, or pet owners can register their four-legged friends the day of the show. There is no cost to register but everyone is encouraged to bring a can or two of pet food that will be donated to CARE for the benefit of the Clinton Animal Shelter. The CARE organization will be presenting ribbons to all cats and dogs present.

Golden Valley Quilt Show

Beautiful colors, beautiful patterns, beautiful quilts! This show is hosted by the Greater Golden Valley Quilt Guild featuring quilts and projects made and owned by members. The Guild will be raffling a beautiful Opportunity Quilt. Tickets are 1/$1 or 6/$5 and the winner will be drawn at the close of the show on Saturday.

Classic cars, trucks & shiny motorcycles are the order of the day at the "Show Your Wheels" Car Show held on Saturday, June 29th, at the the corner of Third & Green Streets, just a couple blocks off the Historic Downtown Square. The David L. Mills Olde Glory Days Scholarship

The children and grandchildren of David L. Mills invite graduates of CHS class of 2013 to apply for the David L. Mills Olde Glory Days Scholarship, a $500 scholarship they have developed to honor Papa and his dedication to the city of Clinton and Olde Glory Days. "For the past twenty years, we have helped behind the scenes, put up tents, brainstormed ideas, hauled equipment & performers and watched our Dad & Papa put his heart and soul into Olde Glory Days each year," reports Curtis Mills. "We really love Olde Glory Days & the grands particularly love riding around in the Olde Glory Mobile. It is time we, as a family, say thanks and after discussing several ideas, have decided the best way to honor Dad is by establishing a scholarship."

Applicants need to submit a 500 word essay on this yearís Olde Glory Days theme, "Proud to be American." Please include with your essay your name, address, contact number & college you will be attending in the fall. All applications should be submitted to David L. Re/Max Balloon Ascension and the Golf Ball Drop

RE/MAX Truman Lake will once again be sponsoring the RE/MAX Balloon Ride and Golf Ball Drop. It includes two (2) events.

First, on Thursday evening, June 27th at 8:30 p.m. at the Main Stage, one name will be drawn for a ride in the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon.

Second, the balloon will take off on Friday, June 28th, from the Hawthorn Bank parking lot located at Second & Franklin St. at approximately 7:45 p.m. (weather permitting).

The balloon will drop the golf balls before launching; the ball that goes in the hole or stops closest to the hole will win $500. In case multiple balls go in the hole, a second drop will determine the $500 winner. Tickets are available through RE/MAX Truman Lake agents and the CHS spirit squad who will be roaming through the crowd. All proceeds of the golf ball drop will support local scholarships. Katy Trail 5K Run/Walk

This year's Olde Glory Days' Annual 5K/One Mile Family Fun Run is brought to you by Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare and will be on the Katy Trail. Starting time is 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29th, with registration beginning at 6:00 a.m. at the Katy Trail parking lot. Please note that 5K runners must be at the Katy Trailhead by 7:15 a.m. to ride the bus that transports runners to the starting line.

The Clinton Fire Department will be serving pancakes and juice on Saturday, June 29th, from 7:00 - 9:30 a.m. at the fire station on South Washington Street. It's a great way to start the day and fill the kids up!

13th Annual All School Reunion

An Olde Glory Days tradition, the All-School Reunion will take place at the Clinton High School (1106 S. 2nd St.), beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 30th. The event will include lunch and a program at noon. If you graduated from Clinton High School, you will enjoy visiting with old friends and will probably make some new ones!

The All School Reunion Committee sends out info to out-of-town grads. If you need a copy of the letter that was sent, check with the Chamber officee at 660.885.8166. Registration fee of $20 includes lunch. If you want to visit and not have lunch, there will be a charge of $5 to help defray costs.

The Clinton Soccer Association (CSA) has announced they will hos the 3rdd Annual "Clinton Cup." The event is sponosred by El Camino Real and will take place Thursday, July 4th at the Clinton Scoccer Complex. Start time will be determined once all entries are received.

KDKD Texaco Country Music Showdown

Americaís largest country music talent search heads to Clinton when the Texaco Country Showdown hits the Main Stage on Thursday, June 27th at 9:00 p.m. Sponsors KDKD and& KCP&L make this show possible. Heartland Community Theater Presents "War Dogs - Valiant Efforts of Our K-9 Heroes"

Cutting Edge Dueling Pianos

Dueling pianos involves two baby grand pianos, both facing each other. The piano players then put on an all request show. Anything the audience wants to hear, the players are sure to know. Whether its 50ís, 60ís, 70ís, 80ís, 90ís, or current, rap, country, or rock and roll. Anything you can imagine, they can perform.

While their roots are in southern gospel music, this Midwest based group has developed a unique blend that combines southern gospel with a more progressive sound. The hallmarks of the groups sound are their lush arrangements, close-knit harmonies and powerful vocals.

Over the past 20 years the group has recorded a total of 13 albums and 2 videos. Each performance is a testament to the versatility of this talented quartet, as it encompasses a variety of musical genres, without compromising the Gospel message.

Area Transportation Services during Olde Glory Days

The City of Clinton Area Transportation Service once again wili offer free rides from your location to 2013 Olde Glory Days events on the square with return trips from the Square to your home. The pick-up and drop-off location is at the Depot on the corner of Main and Jefferson streets. A.T.S. is available not only for the physically challenged but also to anyone who needs transportation. If you require wheelchair assistance, please let the dispatcher know when you reserve your ride. Call 885-3114 to make reservations or wait at the Depot bus stop.

Please note that A.T.S. will run its regular route on Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28, for those who wish to go to other locations than the square. The standard fee applies for those rides.

Olde Glory Days Home Decorating Contest

It's that time again! Clinton residents, show some spirit by decorating to celebrate Independence Day. The theme for this year is the same as our theme for Olde Glory Days: "Proud to be American" Help us celebrate and honor the men and women who fight to keep our country free.

First-, second-, and third-place winners will receive Clinton Chamber of Commerce gift certificates. The "block" that shows the most spirit will also receive an award. Entry forms are available at the Depot and must be returned by Noon on Tuesday, June 25th. Judging will take place on Wednesday, June 26th. Winners will be announced the evening of Thursday, June 27th.

Downtown Window Treasure Hunt

Do the kids need something to do before the official start of Olde Glory Days? Go treasure hunting!

Kids of all ages can participate in Clinton Main Street's Window Treasure Hunt. The contest begins Monday, June 17th and runs through Saturday, June 29th at 5:00 p.m. Participating downtown businesses display numbered Treasure Hunt items in their windows. Entry blanks with corresponding numbers are available at participating businesses, the Chamber Depot, Olde Glory Days Store and the Information Booth during Olde Glory Days. If you complete the form correctly and return it by the deadline, you qualify for the drawing held Saturday evening (you need not be present to win). All winners receive Chamber gift certificates, first place is $150, second place is $100 and third place is $50. Happy Hunting! Winners will be announced prior to the 7:00 p.m. show on the South Side Stage Saturday evening.

2013 Grand Prize Giveaway

Olde Glory Days is excited to announce the 2013 Grand Prize Giveaway.

Each night twenty lucky numbers will be drawn. These twenty badge holders will each be given an envelope with one year listed inside representing one of the twenty years of Olde Glory Days. A drawing will be held and the holder of that special year will continue to play for the trip packages from Travel Connections. Sample trip packages include Philadelphia, Pennsyvlania to see the Liberty Bell, Honolulu, Hawaii to attend the Punch Bowl, Washington D. C. to tour the War Memorial, Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, New Orleans, Louisiana to see the World War II Museum and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to tour the Civil War Memorials. These trip packages, designed for two, are valiued from $2,000 to a grand prize of all the trips, valued at $15,000 and may be individualized through Travel Connections to suit the winner.

One trip package along with additonal smaller prizes will be given away each night.

The price of badges has returned to $5.00 each. Buy one or two or more for your chance to see America.
