The Library is closed on New Years Day, Memorial Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve
and Christmas.
The Main Library closes early (at 5:00 p.m.) on Martin Luther King Day,
Presidents Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day and New Year's Eve.

The New Lenora Blackmore Branch Opened Its Doors
Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
The Grand Opening Celebration for the Lenora Blackmore facility took place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, with Liz Cashell, Director of Library Services for the Henry County Library, cutting the ribbon in front of the new building in Windsor.

Lenora Blackmore Revitalization Fund
Thanks to a generous donation and memorial gifts from the Cleo Whitworth estate, an account has been set up at UMB Bank. Anyone can make contributions to the "Lenora Blackmore Revitalization Fund." Donations of $25 or more are eligible for a receipt and are tax deductible. The money will be used to provide improvements to the facilities of the Lenora Blackmore Branch of the Henry County Library.
Revitalization Book Sale
The Henry County Library Main Branch at Clinton and the Lenora Blackmore Branch at Windsor are participating in a $1 book sale. Money raised will be added to the "Lenora Blackmore Revitalization Fund." The money will be used to provide improvements to the facilities of the Lenora Blackmore Branch of the Henry County Library. The sale books are located in the gallery of the Main Branch in Clinton and at the Lenora Blackmore Branch in Windsor.
Children's Storytime at the Lenora Blackmore
Branch
Children's Storytime is available at Henry County Library-Lenora Blackmore Branch. Since Wednesday, January 2, 2008, after the Lenora Blackmore Library and the Henry County Library merged, pre-school children in Windsor have the opportunity to participate in Storytime. Children's Specialist, Peggy Kepner travels to Windsor each Wednesday to bring stories, songs, and finger plays to the Children's area of the Library. The fun begins at 11:00 am as the Library opens, so bring your little one and be ready to have a good time. The Library is located at 105 West Benton in Windsor.

Expanded Genealogy Resources
at the Lenora Blackmore Branch
The computers at the Lenora Blackmore Branch now have access to the genealogy resources at
Ancestry Library and
Heritage Quest Online.
With Heritage Quest you can search the Census records from 1790 to 1930, search for information in over 25,000 family and local histories, search the Revolutionary War pension and land bounty records and access the Persi™ (Periodical Source Index) database, a comprehensive subject index covering over 6,500 genealogy and local history periodicals.
Ancestry Library allows you to search the 1790-1930 Census records, the United Kingdom census records, the Social Security Death Index, Civil War Service Records, World War I Draft Registration Records, Immigrant Passenger Lists and many other databases; new databases are added every month.

Computer Classes
at the Lenora Blackmore Branch
Classes are planned for Genealogy on the Internet, Basic Computers, Beginning Internet, Beginning Email and Genealogy on the Internet and Learning Microsoft Office. Other topics may be scheduled if there is sufficient interest.
To reserve your spot and computer for these classes call the Lenora Blackmore Branch Library at 660-647-2298. The Library is open 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. There are extended hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
