Internet Access Policy:

In response to advances in technology and the changing needs of the community, the Henry County Library endeavors to develop collections, resources, and services that meet the cultural, informational, recreational, and educational needs of Henry County. It is within this context that the Henry County Library offers access to the Internet.

The Henry County Library does not monitor and has no control over the information accessed through the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its content. The Internet is a global entity with a highly diverse user population and it is your responsibility to use this resource wisely.

All Internet resources accessible through the Library are provided equally to all library users. Parents or guardians, not the Library or its staff, are responsible for the Internet information selected and/or accessed by their children. Parents -- and only parents -- may restrict their children -- and only their children -- from access to Internet resources accessible through the Library. Parents are advised to supervise their children's Internet sessions.

To be more specific:

Staff Assistance:

Library staff cannot provide in-depth training concerning Internet computer jargon or personal computer use. We can get you started and may be able to offer suggestions on search strategies and answer general questions.

Have fun exploring the Internet but please remember that many times you will find the specific information you need right here . . . in our books, periodicals, and other materials.

The library can not and does not provide EMail addresses. Free EMail is available from a number of providers online, including Windows Live, Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, GMail from Google, Mail.com, Juno and many others - visit the Free Email Providers Guide to view a much bigger list. The patron is responsible for signing up for an account and for receiving or sending E-Mails; library staff can not do this for you.
