Watch Natalie's Garden GrowThe Henry County Library had a viewing and reception April 18, to open "Natalie's Garden", the newly decorated Briggs Story Hour Room, in the children's area of the Library. Clinton High School senior and library employee, Natalie Jones has been working on a handpainted floor to ceiling mural for each wall of the room. The mural depicts native birds, fish, animals and children in nature settings. The Children's Room was officially opened with a ribbon cutting done by Mr. Uel Briggs. Mr. Briggs and his late wife, Dorothy, provided the original funding for this room. Attending this event were, Henry County Commissioners, members of the Briggs family, Jones family members and other invited guests. The Briggs Room is located in the southwest corner of the Children's section of the Henry County Library and is used for story time and children's programs. It has a tiered floor for seating and a pull-down screen on the South wall for showing videos. The room was made possible by a generous donation by Dorothy and Uel Briggs. Below are pictures depicting the various stages of Natalie's work and the opening of the finished "Natalie's Garden." |
