Inter Library Loans
We felt that our interlibrary loan process should be explained again
to those patrons who have not used it or who have not known about it. Our
procedure for interlibrary loan (which means that we can borrow books for
our patrons from other libraries) is as follows:
- Our patron should come in to the library to check "ELSIE" to see if we own the book.
If you are elderly of disabled, we can take a request for a book over the phone.
- If we do not own the book, then we will give you a form to fill out to order the book.
You must know the title and author of the book or we cannot order it.
This can be verified through BOOKS IN PRINT.
- In order to be able to order interlibrary loan books, you must have had a library card for
six months and have established good borrowing record.
Interlibrary loan books cannot be overdue or renewed.
New card holders may borrow books for IN LIBRARY USE ONLY!
- Interlibrary loan requests are usually filled or cancelled within ten days.
The books are delivered to our library on Friday and patrons will be notified when their books come in.
For each interlibrary loan book received, the patron will be charged a $0.50 handling fee.
The date due is determined by the lending library.
- Magazine article orders can also be filled through interlibrary loan.
The lending library copies the article and determines the cost per page,
which is paid by the patron. The patron must have the article title,
page number, serial title, month and year.
- Microfilm may be ordered but the patron will be charged a fee of
$12.00 set by the
Missouri State Historical Society.
A maximum of two reels per order.
Microfilm is for IN LIBRARY USE ONLY!
