New Procedures at the library
Effective April 8, 2012
New procedures are coming to the Henry County Library. Beginning April 8, library patrons, new and old alike will be required to have an electronic picture attached to their library card applications. The enhanced identity check will reinforce the Library's legal ability to catch and prosecute those who do not comply with the Electronic Media Room rules.
Library director, Liz Cashell, states, "it is our intent to offer convenient public internet access for the citizens in the community. However, to provide the library with the legal information necessary to manage this activity, we must put new procedures in place."
Library patrons who decline having their picture taken may continue to use the library to check in and check out materials in the usual manner. The only privilege they forfeit is access to the internet computers.
