"Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate?"
Thursday, October 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the Friends Room
Everyone has a treasured belonging such as a cookie jar,
coveted embroidered picture, jewelry, photographs, a baseball
glove or a yellow pie plate, that contain meaning for them and
for other family members. Planning to pass on such items can
be challenging, and may lead to family conflict.
A workshop will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, October 18
in the Friends Room of the Henry County Library, 123 East
Green Street in Clinton. Join Lisa Wallace, Extension Human
Development Specialist as she presents information to help you
transfer your personal, non-titled property to loved ones and
family members.
Addressing this topic helps those who are planning their
property distribution, as welt as those who will be receiving the
inheritance. Participants will gain a better understanding of
how to transfer non-titled (personal) properly to loved ones. No
legal issues will be discussed.
Research indicates that most family members want to
preserve memories, maintain privacy, be fair, improve or
maintain family relationships and contribute to society. Come
learn how you can best distribute your personal items.

SeniorFest 2007
September 20, 2007 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
What's fun, free and happens in the fall? SeniorFest at the library of course!
This will be the sixth year for the popular, senior focused event, which will be held September 20th from l:00 - 4:oo p.m. Booths will be set up throughout the library gallery and
Friends room. Over 40 booths will be offering a variety of goods and services to the public. Each display will have representatives willing to talk witk you about the special benefits of their products and business.
When you visit the exhibits in the Friends Room, be sure and pick up your glass of cool lemonade, compliments of the library. If you proceed out the North Friends room door, you will find workers from Herman's Lumber Company of Clinton serving freshly grilled hotdogs, free to the public.
Each year attendees are invited to vote for the booth which they consider to be the Best Decorated and for the one they found to be the Friendliest Booth. Your vote could be the one they need to win!
The Friends of the Library will be offering a $10.00 "SeniorFest Special" on their roomy canvas book bags which sport the library logo. New this year, is an antique auto display from Downtown Desoto. Several vintage cars will be offered for your viewing pleasure on the
south lawn of the library building. Come take a look at these finely restored vehicles, perhaps you had one just like it.
Individuals attending the SeniorFest are encouraged to enter through the front (South) entrance and exit through the Friends Room. This insures that you will be signed
up for the drawings being held at many of the booths. Lots of planning, effort and cooperation is needed to make this event a success.
The Library will close after SeniorFest (4:00 pm) to allow staff members to restore order for business on Friday. Each member of the Henry County Library staff looks forward to seeing YOU of SeniorFest! Plan to join the fun.
