- June 1: The St. Louis & San Francisco Rr ("The Frisco") purchases the property of the Kansas City Osceola & Southern RR ("The Blair Line") from Bolivar to Kansas City, thereby becoming full owner of the route from Springfield to Kansas City via Bolivar, Osceola, Clinton, Blairstown, and Harrisonville.

1901
- Bowen Coal Company organized to open new underground coal mines northwest of Windsor, where the new town of Bowen is established, straddling the Henry - Johnson county line.
- April 15: First rural free delivery routes opened from the Clinton Post Office.
- May: The St. Louis & San Francisco RR ("Frisco") purchases the Kansas City Fort Scott & Memphis RR ("The Memphis Route"), which is owner of the Kansas City Clinton & Springfield RR ("The Leaky Roof") through Clinton. The Frisco now owned 3 different routes from Kansas City to Springfield, its original line through Clinton (the former "Blair Line"), the Fort Scott line through Lamar, Fort Scott and Olathe, and the "Leaky Roof" line through Clinton.

- Fall: Baird College is reopened as the Clinton College for Young Ladies.

- The City of Clinton opens a municipal power plant at Franklin Street, just east of the Frisco railroad tracks.
- Kahn's Opera House opened at Montrose.

- Missouri adopts primary election law.

1908
- September: First Germantown Labor Day Picnic is held at St. Ludgers Church in Germantown.
- September 15: Black powder explosion at the MKT Depot at Windsor killed 12 and severely injured at least 10 more, 2 of whom died within the next week. Black powder consigned to a merchant at Lewis was spilled when it was moved to get at other freight that was to be unloaded at Windsor, and before it could be swept out of the car, the loose powder ignited, setting off all the pwoder in the car, destroying it and a sizable part of the MK&T's Windsor depot.
