- April: Unit 2 of the Montrose Power Station goes into commercial operation, providing 175,000 kilowatts of electricity and raising plant capacity to 350,000 kilowatts.

- United Telephone installs dial telephones at the Clinton exchange.

1964
- April: Unit 3 of the Montrose Power Station goes into commercial operation, providing 175,000 kilowatts of electricity, and raising the capacity of the plant to 525,000 kilowatts. (The plant is now rated at 510,000 kilowatts net capability.)

1965
- Site is selected for a new airport for Clinton, about 3 1/2 miles east of the city just south of Highway 7.

1966
- Clinton Memorial Airport is opened.
- New Highway 13 is opened from Clinton south past Deepwater, crossing the Grand and Deepwater Creek bottoms on massive fills. The Highway 13 construction project was the first major work done on the Kaysinger Bluff Lake project.
- The Highway 7/13 Bypass around Clinton is opened.
- The Telesis cable system opens in Clinton, offering 8 channels from an antenna located several miles west of town.

1967
- Lighting is installed a the new Clinton Memorial Airport.
- Wetzel Hospital is expanded.
- February 15: Old 3-story brick Shawnee Mound school building is destroyed by fire.
- September 4: New single story Shawnee Mound school opened.

1968
- September 15: Clinton Memorial Airport is formally dedicated.

1969
- May: The tower is removed from the Henry County Courthouse. Many were sad to see it go, but the tin clad tower had given trouble from leaks almost from the day it was finished and the Henry County Commission finally chose to remove it rather than spend more money trying to keep it water proof.
- September: Rival Manufacturing announces its intention to build a major factory in Clinton.
