Note: The Reid School, located about 2 1/2 miles southeast of the Clinton Square in an area of the Deer Creek bottoms that is now part of Truman Lake, early became a part of the Clinton School system. The school was closed sometime in the 1930s.
Note: From 1946 into the early 1950s the school system in Henry County went through a series of consolidations, eventually reducing the nearly 100 separate, mostly one-room rural schools, to only 10 systems, several of which stretch across county lines. In the process the Clinton School district absorbed a number of rural districts (including the pioneering Norris C-1 District - the first consolidated rural school district in Missouri, formed around 1910) to become Consolidated District 124.
