Clinton (population 5,061), county seat of henry County, 87 miles southeast of Kansas City on the Missouri Kansas & Texas, St. Louis & San Francisco, and Kansas City, Clinton & Springfield railroads, has thriving business interests, especially flouring mills. Coal is produced in vicinity and agriculture is a leading industry. Baird College, for young women, is here.
