This book, the State of Missouri, an Autobiography was published in 1904 for distribution at the St. Louis World's Fair, also known as the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. It includes a brief history of the state, articles about the important features of the state (Agriculture, Manufacturing, Transportation, etc., and finally articles about the larger cities and all 114 of the counties.
At present, it is not my intention to try and enter in the entire book, but only the county entries for the counties nearest the Truman Lake area. The maps that go with the county entries have been scanned using a hand-held scanner, and so may be a little wavy in spots. Most county entries also had one or more small photographs of points of interest in that county. I haven't yet tried to scan these in, but may do so later.
NOTE: The Rock Island's line across the state was still under construction in 1903 and the route for this line shown on the Jackson, Johnson, Pettis, and Benton county maps follows the actual line rather loosely. The route shown in the West Central Missouri railroad map is on the correct line.
