Local Court Rules: Rule 17


Rule 17. DESIGNATED PLACES FOR HOLDING COURT (Revised 8/1/99)

(1) The designated place for holding Court, except for Municipal Divisions, shall be any room or rooms in the State Circuit Courthouse in each county in this circuit.

(2) Municipal Divisions shall hold Court at the place designated by the Judge of the particular Municipal Division.

(3) As provided in Section 509.380 RSMo. and in the discretion of the Judge hearing a particular case or class of cases in any county, hearings, acts or other proceedings, except trials upon the merits, may be held and pleadings filed with the judge, notwithstanding any provision of Rule 4 to the contrary:

(a) at the residence of the Judge in the county;

(b) at the City Hall within any municipality in the county;

(c) at the County Jail of the county;

(d) in Bates County, at the "General Store" in Ballard, Missouri; or,

(e) at any other place within the state or circuit the judge may be.
